RUBBISH

{Seeing waste and Re-thinking it}

Waste as power of truth

This art exhibition on waste, on the occasion of World Recycling Day, has the primary ambition of supporting a reflection on our modes of production and consumption. It is intended as a way of facing reality and making visible what -  by definition - is excluded from our system of production and consumption.

Taking a look at the waste we produce also means accepting the emergence of a critique of single-use object markets. To look at waste is to accept that things come to us in the form of disposable and over-packaged products and which also contributes to air pollution. A better view of waste also means a better view of the consequences of our production methods.

Waste as a form of wealth

Looking at waste also means seeing the people who collect and sort it. It is necessary to determine what is part of the world, what must be thrown away and what can be saved Saving our waste means rehabilitating it socially and giving waste a new place.

Worn things and damaged things can be salvaged. What some treat as waste, others make it a treasure.
